Within the framework of COST Action TD0906, Dr. Peter Ladurner is organizing a Training School (TS) entitled “Molecular approaches to bioadhesion research”. This TS will take place at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, from July 01 to 05 2013.
The course will introduce fundamental aspects of molecular biology tools. Theoretical background and hands-on work will be done on gene isolation, gene expression, and gene knock-down. Insights will be provided on transcriptomes, genomes, databases, BLAST searches, alignments, and primer design. Practical work will comprise PCR, in situ hybridization, and RNA interference.
As this TS will consist of hands-on practical courses, the number of participating trainees will be limited to twelve. To apply for participation, please send a motivation letter together with a short CV to Dr. Peter Ladurner (<peter.ladurner@uibk.ac.at>) The deadline for applications is May 31st 2013. In case we receive more than 12 applications, participants will be selected by the Action Core Group.
Selected participants (trainees) will be entitled reimbursement for their participation (travel, subsistence, and accommodation) according to COST rules. The organizers have arranged a registration package including local transportation, hotel and meals for 400 €. Grants for trainees will be 800 € (600 € for Austrian participants).
